I was moping about my stolen camera when a friend who's known me for decades said, just get a new camera and start making photos immediately. You're in Italy. So I did. I bought a used monochrome camera with a fixed lens. This is straight out of camera (except I reduced exposure a bit). For street photography, I think I will like having a camera that has fewer choices I have to make. Of course, I will have to replace my main camera, too, as I still need one that does color and has focal length options.
Wonderful street shot. I admire you for not letting thieves ruin your trip. I thought you were processing the photos monochrome--how neat that you have a monochrome camera.
@jgpittenger Thanks, Jane. In the next version, the car has come closer to me and therefore the women are not backlit any longer. All the attention then goes to the car.
Love the light and shadows here and the two women walking together while on the other side of the street people are sitting at tables.
