Okra Flower by k9photo

Okra Flower

We visited a local farm today to get some okra because they were sold out at the farmers market last Saturday. This Connecticut Yankee never heard of okra until moving to the southeast U.S. We love to have grilled veggies, including okra, for dinner. I first started liking okra when I got fried okra with BBQ. I just found out that it is really a fruit and not a vegetable but it seems like a veggie to me!
The blossom and buds have so much texture and detail and the color is rich and saturated... love it and I love okra too.

Never knew it was a fruit. I tried it but it was tasteless just cooked in a double boiler..have to try to BBQ it and hope it'll change my mind.
Looks like it has a beautiful flower.

Looks similar to the zucchini flower. Very nice stuffed with ricotta and lightly fried.

Most excellent detail. Like okra but no one else does in our house, their loss.

Nice shot, like the lightning. I did not know it was a fruit either ( like Bruni)

Didn't know okra was a fruit either but now that I think about it, makes sense. That flower is stunning!

Such a nice flower and I've learnt something new today, like the others I find it a bit meh but barbecuing sounds good.

Gorgeous focus and detail.

@bruni @pattyblue We just spray with olive oil, add seasoning to taste as desired, and then grill. Of course, cut the stem end off first.
