sparrows

I love watching groups of sparrows they seem to have a good social life.
these ones were perched on the edge of the chicken house roof peering down to see if there was any wheat left that I spilt that morning, daring each other to get down and have a look.

in my language we call the common house sparrow a 'chimani' and in baby language its called 'chiutai', Chiu is short for Chimani and Tai means elder sister ... many of the songs and lullabies are about them ... every baby hears the word Chiutai from the mother in these songs and stories and the sparrow becomes a part of their emotional world even before they know it :) ... your picture is so nice it just made me share this with you
