Dust

Dusty is so beautiful and free, I just love her to bits and will be sad when she leaves in a couple of weeks.

Take a look at the 4th of March to see the get-pushed challenge I have this week from April Milani.

Here I have done a flashback to capture the wonder of she as a young girl, Stephanie helped with her interpretation of the painting :)
@aprilmilani But for your push I would not have made this, her mum Rachyll will love this as a going away present I am sure :)

Something very special here, the tone? the composition? the softness? the lighting - look at her upper arm, the lighting made it so painting like and just want to touch it. Love it. Fav!

very much a throwback image in composition, expression, and tonal focus. i dont really fancy the filter/effect, in terms of photographic power, but if one were to take it more as a digital art piece, or perhaps something for a densely grained textile, i think it has merit. this is an image i enjoy because it breaks the all-too-common boundary of semi-close portraits that entails visible, even if vague or subconscious, immediate mental interaction between the documenter and subject.

long zoom very handy for that, plus a very self-contained child @ubiquitybutsomewhatdownsized
