It has been a long time since I went into the town centre and today parked on the iconic bus station built in the Brutalist architectural style between 1968 and 1969. It was due to be demolished in 2012, but various campaigns saw it finally being given listed building status and it has now been refurbished. It used to be a horrible place to pass through, but today it looked clean and bright and a credit to those who fought for it to remain.
Wonderful lines and wonderful story. A bit of TLC can work wonders on what was often very visionary architecture from that period. I'm a fan as you might have guessed.
