The western skyline of Providence is dominated by modern skyscrapers. In stark contrast is the eastern skyline shown in today's photo. The Providence County Courthouse dominates with its clock tower and small golden dome. Equally impressive is the World War I monument, overlooking the city in honor of those Rhode Islanders who gave their lives in the "War to End All Wars." Modern intrusions have thus far been kept at bay, and the eastern skyline remains intact.
Post processing started with a copper filter in Topaz B&W Effects. I adjusted the adaptive exposure, contrast, boost black, and boost white filters as well as the individual color sensitivity sliders. In PSE I desaturated the image and applied a levels adjustment as well as a contrast adjustment. The top layer is a sepia photo filter.
