Stalking the Elusive Trout

Woonsocket, Rhode Island
There are a series of waterfalls descending from Harris Pond, a large reservoir on the Blackstone, Massachusetts and Woonsocket, Rhode Island border. When I went out for today's photo, I planned to shoot those three waterfalls since there's a nice vantage spot at the base that offers a good view of the entire series of man-made dams. Ideally, I'd do a High Dynamic Range (HDR) sequence of photos, however there was a very strong, steady wind, and that greatly hinders any ability to produce a quality HDR composite. When I arrived, I spotted these two fisherman at the base of the lower falls. While Harris Pond was not recently stocked, they were still here in hopes of catching some summer stragglers. They hadn't had any luck as yet, though.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, contrast, regions, boost black, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
@cejaanderson They're always eager to talk about fishing, too, so you typically get both an interesting photo and a good fishing story all at the same time.
