Once again, I was extremely pressed for time at lunch, so I returned to my "safety shot" location of Haines Point Park. The winter chill is still keeping people away from the park, which means candid photos are out of the question, but there's typically something interesting to find here even if the people are noticeably absent. What struck me today was the way the wind had blown the ice up onto the shore along Bullocks Cove. The waterline is a good 30 feet away from these boats, but the wind had forced the ice right up to them. What also intrigues me is that, despite the absence of any boats in the ice clogged cove, these rowboats are in a different configuration every time I visit. One of these visits, it would be nice to encounter the folks that are moving them around.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and boost black. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2014/i-4rthhrp/0/XL/2014%2001%2030_0008%20copy-XL.jpg

@tryingforsighs Cold indeed, Rachel! At least I managed not to fall through the ice like a couple of days ago, though. LOL
