Bike Crossing
14 April 2014 -- 104/365
Barrington, Rhode Island
The temperature hit 78°F (26°C) by noon today. Knowing that there would be a lot of people out enjoying the suddenly warm weather, I went to Haines Park in Barrington expecting to see people putting their boats in the water. Instead, it was the bike path that was a bustle of activity. That's what I decided to capture today as this rider crossed one of the access roads leading into the park.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and boost black. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
@justaspark This is typical Rhode Island, Jule! Last week we had on winter jackets. Today was beach weather. Wednesday it's supposed to be cold again. /sigh
A wonderful street shot of this man on his bicycle! Seems you can't get a break with the weather! Sadly it's been in the low 20°C's recently and it's absolutely freezing! x
@lilminimonka Over the last decade or so, they've been converting old railroad beds to bike paths. It's called the "Rails to Trails" program. As a result, we have about a half-dozen really nice bike paths running through the state. There's a project underway - the Greenway Project - to stretch a single bike path from Maine to Florida! The net result, though, besides some great bike paths, is a full network of wonderful photography locations. It's a win-win! Speaking of weather, back down to 10 C today and raining. /sigh
@kannafoot 10C? Man that makes my 20C seem like a heatwave haha! Sounds like a great idea though with the bike paths! Sure will result in some great photos!
But cool capture :D
