Reflecting Pool

We had an all-day management meeting that included dinner, so on my way home I stopped at Lincoln Woods for my photo. Now that fishing season's arrived, Lincoln Woods is a good "safety shot" location since there's always some activity there to photography. Driving in, though, I noticed this bridge and stand of birch trees with perfect early evening lighting striking them. I couldn't pass up that lighting since it was pure chance that I got here at just the right time.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
@cejaanderson Thanks, Jane! With the upgraded photo quality here, the difference isn't as great as it once was, but I still only upgrade a low quality shot to this site. (It's resized to 8x5 and saved at low resolution. Smugmug gets the full image with the highest resolution possible in a JPG.)
@lilminimonka Thanks, Brianna! I'll be honest, it was tough to do the b&w conversion on this one. The light was golden on the bridge, birch trees, and reflections, so it would have made an excellent color photo. My theme this year is black and white, though, so... lol Of course, that's going to prove very interesting this fall when I'm posting b&w photos of fall foliage. lol
