Family Portrait

Smithfield, Rhode Island
Well, not really. I believe by definition, the little tyke in the middle is a pony, not a horse. Despite that technicality, when the three moved into this position while grazing, I couldn't escape the impression of a family of three, so that's how I presented it. The house in the background isn't associated with the farm, although I believe it's from the same era. With the traditional New England stone fence and the house in the background, it made an interesting old New England farm scene. You'd never guess that this scene was taken from busy Douglas Pike in a residential section of Smithfield.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
@kannafoot I´m sorry, but I was with my friend and her family on the North Sea and I had forgotten my camera - battery recharger. :( So I couldn´t take any pictures. Because I don´t want to destroy my yellow month, I will start in Mai with new pictures and a new colour :)
