Rainy Day Landscaping

We had periods of heavy downpours today. I had nothing specific in mind for a photo (although thanks to Brianna @lilminimonka my thoughts keep turning to Chinese food and chocolate cake,) so I decided to swing through Lincoln Woods to see if there was anything interesting to photograph in the rain. It turns out there was. Despite the shower in progress, this gentleman continued trimming the edges near the runoff pond next to the beach area. I found it interesting that he wasn't dressed for rain despite the fact that it was pouring all morning.

Post processing started with a neutral greyscale filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and boost black. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2014/i-QZZFBcS/0/XL/2014%2006%2013_0017%20copy-XL.jpg
Cracking b&w capture.

Oh my haha! Seems my photo's have a lasting effect! Made me laugh reading your little caption! A lovely capture though, how peculiar, he doesn't seem to be bothered by the rain at all. I always adore these candid shots, love how the river has little patterns of rain across it!
