Until the Cows Come Home

Note to self. When planning to visit a specific location for a specific type of photo, be sure that the date on the event matches the date on the calendar. The observant follower of my project will note that the four legged tail-swishers in today's photo do not in any way resemble antique fire apparatus which is what I actually set out to photograph this morning. There's a very good reason for this. The antique display at Johnston Memorial Park is tomorrow, not today. So instead, you are stuck with this "Plan B" photo of a handful of cows (assuming it's an extremely large hand, of course) grazing in the pasture alongside Heywood Farm. It's a pleasant scene, of course, but their only relationship to fire apparatus ended on the O'Leary farm in Chicago in 1871.
Post processing started with a neutral greyscale filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, details, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
Haha, a very beautiful black and white shot of what I would assume to be some beautiful black and white cows? Perhaps brown? Cant wait to see tomorrows photo as well! (:
