Push to the Finish

I went to the East Bay Bike Path for today's photo, planning to get a photo or two with the Squantum Club's gazebo in the background. When I spotted this gentleman approaching on what looks to be a homemade recumbent 3-wheeler, though, I positioned myself for this photo of him bracing for the final hill before the parking area. It was brutally hot today, and the placement of this hill at the end of the ride would violate several clauses in the Geneva Convention. There's no multi-gearing on this tricycle, so he really had to work to reach the finish.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2014/i-4wmRvG6/0/XL/2014%2007%2012_0079%20copy-XL.jpg

If you're interested in birds, I also spotted a Female House Finch along the side of the path. She stayed long enough for me to get a decent photo: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Birds/Perching-Birds-1/i-hJ8SF8g/0/XL/2014%2007%2012_0073%20copy-XL.jpg
What a funny tricyle - and nice shot of course!

What an interesting mode of transport! Sure looks like its a lot of work to get that working! So it's basically a deconstructed bike? A bit like a bike that's been hit by a truck haha! I'd certainly like to have a go on one of these. Have you ridden one of these Ron?

@lilminimonka I've never ridden a recumbent on the roads or bike path. The local health club has the stationary kind, and I've tried those, but I prefer your standard road bike.
