I went to Haines Point at lunch for today's photo, but I really didn't have anything specific in mind. There was some fog developing off and on throughout the morning, and I thought there might be some potential setup if that continued. I noticed, however, that the water was remarkably calm, and the reflections on the far side of the cove followed the shoreline around the entire point. The fog had dissipated, but the sky was a solid grey canvas, so I decided to use that to my advantage. The water level was high, though, which prevented me from betting down as low as I had hoped when I first noticed the scene. Instead, I decided to use the grass along the near shore to form a foreground frame. In retrospect, I'm glad I did since I think the composition would be less pleasing if it were just the houses and reflections in the background.

Post processing started with a high key I filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted adaptive exposure, and regions. A black and white gradient map and a levels adjustment were added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2014/i-BtTg7jr/0/XL/2014%2011%2012_0014%20copy-XL.jpg
