This is another shot from yesterday's foggy morning walk. I wish, however, that I could provide some "soundshots" from my walk. The bird calls were magical including the Mockingbird, the Red-winged Blackbird, the Mourning Dove, the Bluejay, the Meadowlark. The coolest sound of all was when I was focusing in the dew drops and I could hear an unusual fluttering sound from above. I looked up to see a beautiful Mourning Dove flying overhead. What's so charming about this bird is that it's so "bottom-heavy" when it flies that its wings sound more like they are "thuddering" than fluttering. Wish I could have captured him in flight. You just had to have been there. This composition is best when viewed enlarged.
It must have been a glorious mprning walk, I can well imagine all the sounds. I sometimes wish that this was possible, since we percieve with all our senses and take a photo with just one of them so what others look at is never what we experienced
Thats lovely commentary Kareen, photographers don't only develop a visual sense but the ears are also listening for the delightful sounds around to maybe capture a bird that is yet unseen. A nice capture....
@landownunder Thanks so much for your thoughts, Denis. It is true that all my senses have been sharpened as a result of taking up photography. I've felt more alive as a result.
It sounds wonderful. I agree that this project heightens all the senses. Such a great and unexpected bonus to this effort. Lovely shot, Kareen. Your focus is fantastic!
