Hesed - Hebrew for Lovingkindness by kathyladley

Hesed - Hebrew for Lovingkindness

Hesed is the idea of faithful love in action.

God's Hesed can be described as persistent and unconditional tenderness, kindness and mercy, a relationship in which he seeks after man with love and mercy.

The photo is the hand of a pastor who had Hesed tattooed on his wrist in Hebrew.

My teacher this week is Michael Card. He is a wonderful song writer and singer as well as teacher. He is teaching us the book of Matthew giving great history of the times in Jesus day.

He personally defines Hesed - When a person from whom I have the right to expect nothing gives me everything... over the top.
That's really interesting. I have heard that name before but didn't realize what it meant.

@bristolrose Thanks Kathryn, It has been a great study because he has taught us behind the scenes history and meanings of words I never know. A lot of pastors are here from all denominations and walks of life.

@paul2782 Paul, You are right, he has given us so many reference books to study but most of all he affirms the vastness of God's love for each of us.
