Me Da is dying
His frail hands shake to reach the water cup
And he swallows such that all can hear
I grieve before grief
And, still, ten thousand will die
In Yemen before the year is out
Ten thousand
I write this in a warm room
With food at the waiting
My grief is no less certain
But it is tempered
By truth
These are the most disturbing and profound words I've read in a long time... thank you for sharing at this difficult time. Although you know the outcome, it won't be any easier when the day comes... be strong but cry lots - tears are nature's balm.
Kevin, I've been a bit remiss with my commenting recently so it's been a delight to catch up with your recent images and your sensitive poetry... always thought provoking.
Your words help ♥️ Thank you
