Pease AIr Force Base in Portsmouth, NH where US Troops returning from overseas stop briefly for refueling. No less than a hundred, and usually more, kind souls gather to welcome these troops home at their first stop on US soil.
Having started in 2005, they have welcomed back over 170,000 troops as they walk down the Hero's Walk to an ovation and much hand shaking with food, phones and fellowship available for the returning troops. Manned 24/7 so no returning member of the Armed Forces goes unrecognized, it was a privilege to join our Scouts in welcoming home our own from Afghanistan today. http://peasegreeters.org/
