Get a Kindle then you wont have to look at the books ...lol
at least I know that when they finally find out Im as crazy as everyone thinks I am ,, you can help me!!! lol
@maryellen - definitely not light reading at all @eos30me - ha ha! @jodimuli - I knew they would be good for something @niara - Unfortunately yes, I'm studying my Masters of Mental Health at university.
I'm sure you're doing wonderfully in your studies, Kathy. Some of the books I found most boring at uni are the ones I always refer back to as I semi-recall something I slept through and need to brush up on. Now I find them plenty interesting :)
@kjarn I think that's the key, Kathy. When I was studying, I tended to skim & scan. Arts texts are written in a pattern - "This is what this chapter is about / This is me explaining what the chapter is about / That is what the chapter was about". Reading the first few paragraphs until you find a repeat of information, then the last few paragraphs for a summation - I could get through a lot of print in a very short time and know where to go when I needed it for a reference. Some of Karryn's biology texts from her Masters are written the same way. I'm not sure about practical/forensic psychology, though. Them's dudes be crazy! ;o)
@brizmako - that is the ultimate aim. I have been a mental health nurse for many a year, am now doing my Masters in order to lead on to nurse practitioner which is a nurse able to prescribe.
I did have a really big yawn after reading all the titles though.
