From top to bottom:
A general fiction that was ok, an easy read
A general fiction that was ok, too long and wordy
A general fiction that I was disappointed in, slow and unfunny
A thriller that was good, a bit silly and predictable
A general fiction that I was disappointed in, I really struggled.
Nicely captured - A few years ago, I did what I said I would never do and started reading on a Kindle instead of books. I still have quite a few actual books and hope to catch up on some of them in the new year.
Except if for book club (but not always) or if recommended by a good friend, I don't finish books I don't like. At this age, there are too many books out there to be bored by one.
@randystreat I used to finish every book no matter what, now I give up if I’m hating it at the 50-100 age mark. I’m just in a quandary about books that I only like. I know we can’t love every book we read so I continue to read the ok/like category.
i have the dawn french book in my tablet but haven't read it. was it really unfunny? now i'm not interested in reading it. but for me if the first page interests me, i'd read the full chapter, if i struggle during that time, the book gets "tossed". interesting reads.
Hope you have better luck this month.
I do envy you - I'm still struggling with concentration whilst reading.
