This bush is now covered in lilly pillys, I hope they will be edible
What a lovely capture, but what on earth is a lilly pilly?

How lovely, never heard of these before and hope to see some more ;-)

@jamibann they are native Australian trees and shrubs that have edible berries that can be white or pink

That’s a new one for me too! Hope you enjoy them!

Never tasted lilly pilly, have you?
March 29th, 2021
@onewing no I haven’t. I’ve had the bush for about 6 years and this is the first year I’ve seen berries on it.

Lovely shot! Let us know what they taste like. =)

If not edible then Lilli Pilli jam it is. Nice shot.

They do look tasty! Nice shot!

I've not heard of these so ... Google to the rescue. In the images they show of this fruit, the fruit is much redder.

I like how you've used all greens, but highlight the different shape of the focal berries.

Not seen these before. Great verdant greens. Odd little fruits. Nice image. Thank you.

@randystreat My friend assures me that mine will turn red however I'm not seeing it....yet

You learn something new everyday and Lilly Pilly is it for me today!
Let us know how they taste.
March 30th, 2021
@kjarn Let us know when that happens and how you like them.

Apparently you need LOTS of sugar if you’re making Lilly Pilly jam. Mine never turn red either. The dog likes snacking on them though when they fall off the tree.

@mazoo I won't be making jam, I don't make anything 😂. So they are edible if not red? How do you know when they are ready to eat?
April 5th, 2021
@kjarn They are ready to eat when they have changed from totally tart and inedible to ooh that’s really tart, we’re gonna need loads of sugar 😂 We have three different types of Lilly Pilly in the yard and only two seem to produce the berries. The tree ones stay white-ish and the shrub ones are a reddy brown.
