I'm just so impatiently waiting to see the joey peek out of this pouch!
The koala joey is born as a little hairless pinkie that climbs up mums belly and into her pouch where it latches on to a teat for up to 6 months.
I probably have to learn to be patient for a bit longer. The breeding season ended around late February, so this joey bulge is at least 3 months old. So exciting :)
@hermann thanks John, even though they are natives here I find them exotic even in my own 'backyard' :) @hermann thanks Sally, not photographically brilliant, but she has been hiding that pouch for weeks, so to catch her showing it was irresistible!
@catwhiskers@milaniet@happysnaps@cruiser I'm also enjoying sharing the journey with you all. promise as soon as I spy a joey with my little eye I will be here quick as a flash (pun intended). I am particularly pleased to share the bits of koala information with photos, I'm on a learning journey too so you are all helping me while we enjoy them together!
