Tootsie has found her way down to a section of young trees. She is sitting in a Swamp Mahogany and this is the first koala activity I've had in this area which contains about 100 trees. You can tell it's young because she is holding onto the main trunk of the tree, not out on some branch!
I was lucky to get this shot as she quickly became nervous when she realised how close I was to her (she is only a metre or so off the ground here). So I just snapped a few and moved away as I want to encourage koalas into this area even if the trees are young, that's what they are here for!

She does have particularly fluffy ears hey!
Thanks John, appreciate your comment
Joan she only looked curious for a moment, I took that photo then moved a little and she went to alert, then crawled sideways a bit and put her head behind that tiny tree trunk - oh good you can't see me now lol
@hermann@tellefella@joansmor@gilbertwood@lynne5477@yeshanghai@alia_801 I'm stunned that because of you all enjoying this photo it has already hit the trending page. That's two days in a row for my pics, and I never expected that. Loving this site, so many amazing photos to see that you all post up, and so many lovely comments on the ones I choose. THANK YOU!
You have captured a wonderful expression. Hopefully over time she will get used to you and your camera and pose more readily for you, without getting stressed!
@fayefaye Thank you for visiting and your comment Faye. It is wonderful to be living here and watching the koalas totally thrive :) @milaniet thank you so much, this site is a great way to do a little documentary for myself as well as anyone who would like to enjoy it with me. I'm learning as I go too which is great :) @janewinfrey thanks Jane! @888rachel thanks Rachel she is a picture of health. I work voluntary at the local koala care centre and I sure see how awful disease is for them and keep an eagle eye on their bums and eyes! @happysnaps thanks Val she is a cutey and pretty to boot! @salza I'm hoping so Sally as Clinger gives me the most amazing bored stares and I get only metres away from him when he is in the young trees higher up that same slope. @365projectorgchristinewebb I couldn't agree more Christine :)
Thanks to everyone enjoying this shot, what a great place this is!
