lumbar support by koalagardens

lumbar support

designer trees provide lumbar support but the claws are still needed to hold on tight ;) thank you for all the comments and interest in my project and the koala

Nice shot...appears uncomfortable but looks very relaxed.

I would much rather rely on the claws than the tree branch - !!

That looks rather precarious :)

So pleased to see you are still posting Koala images. I never tier of watching their behaviour.

When they are sleeping that much are they not become an eazy prey for predators ? A nice meat balll in the trees?
Lovely shot.

@pyrrhula they are usually sleeping 30 metres or more up in the tree tops. In this photo Legion is about 25 metres up a large red gum. The main predators are domestic dogs and cattle. usually the problem is that people let their dogs loose, or the koala climbs into a backyard (this happens quite a lot). with cattle, a koala trying to cross a paddock because they don't have enough trees will be attacked and killed by cows far too often.
so usually when they are asleep they are safe - it's when they have to get down onto the ground to move that they are the most vulnerable
