FoR leading lines challenge.
Previously on WtL I woke before dark to hear a koala screaming. At sunrise Maxine was seen out on a limb, and Jordan basking in the golden glow of sunrise in a nearby tree. Turning around I found Bullet clinging to the tree trunk nearly right beside me, and up he went to read the scent story contained in the lofty branches...
Meanwhile, back in the kitchen, just as my coffee pot completed it's critical task, out that magical kitchen window I spied Bullet moving down the branches. I looked longingly at that brew and took a deep breath of the luscious fumes to keep me going while I grabbed camera and raced back to the scene.
It's quite a task to hurry while being silent so you don't disrupt the koala behaviour! I nodded to Jordan as I passed him (he wasn't missing a thing!) and back to capture Bullet coming back down the tree trunk.
Onto the ground he went, and turned without hesitation straight to my quad bike path that leads down into the depths of bloodwood gully, and like that, he had disappeared ...
Stay tuned for the next exciting episode ...
Where did Bullet go?
What will Jordan do now?
Walking the Line is a Koala Gardens production, real drama from real koalas. The full length motion picture will be released this week (a whopping 12 minutes to keep you chuckling for hours)
Thanks so much for being a part of my project and commenting along and asking such awesome questions :)
So much drama and suspense, you should be an author as well as a great photographer! How many Koalas have you named? Stunning shot and fab story telking. Looking forward to the next chapter 😊
@ludwigsdiana this is the 5th year of daily spotting and data collection and there have been 67 individuals on the property in that time, and all are named by my fb followers (can nearly turn into hilarious riots sometimes). thank you for your very kind words, I'd love to write, if only I had more time!
@susiemc Bullet was 5.5kg when we released him back here after that dog attack last year. I would guess he is around 6kg now. I reckon Jordan is at least 8kg. so you are right, Bullet is fairly small - and that is a big mature tree so it really dwarfs him.
@koalagardens I’m glad you explained that. I thought he looked awfully small also. Great story. I even read it to my husband who is enjoying it as well.
I wonder what sent Bullet up, and then back down? If I remember correctly the koalas don’t spend much time on the ground. He looks so small compared to the mature tree! Don’t go far, Bullet!
@kchuk what you can't read between the lines and photos here will be fully revealed with "Walking the line" the movie hits at the end of this week :) oooooh so much suspense in the air!!
What a super shot & a wonderful story....I so look forward to the motion picture..This shot really shows the wonderful " koala trees " on your property. These koala's can get up to some "mischief."
