Is this a new koala? I don’t recognize the nose pattern. Yay for full color! The claws look super sharp- one thing I liked from the video was seeing how they use their arms and legs to climb.

@beryl it's incredible how often they sit like this (I call it 'koala on a stick' hahaha). I'm sure that cartilage plate across their back makes this possible but you still have to wonder!

Looks a bit uncomfortable, lovely capture...Fav

@kchuk nah that's our Bullet :) Yes the video did show well how those claws are used to climb and how it's an action of the arms with the legs just kind of boosting it all. Great to know how much you were seeing in the video!

great capture of the snoozing Bullet - and that does not look comfortable

Guess they could do some damage to each other with those claws - do they get into scraps?

A great capture of this sleeping beauty.

@fbailey they sure do - they are very territorial and the males have to fight to establish and maintain their colony positions. however their coats are so thick they rarely damage each other with their claws. however, all of us that work in wild koala rescue and rehab have the scars to prove how sharp they are :)

I don’t know how any living creature can sleep with a stick poking it in the piriformis.
