cooling off by koalagardens

cooling off

Hugo is taking advantage of letting every bit of the late afternoon breeze cool him down after another hot, dry day in the long-running drought.
Thank you for the awesome questions and comments on my photos here.
He looks a bit weary. Heat is so draining really.

A hot dry day here today too with very hot winds. I know exactly how Hugo is feeling.

Sleepy Hugo!

It must be very challenging for all creatures in the continuing drought. Good that there's a little breeze up high.

Hope Hugo can cool down at the end of the day.

Nice capture!

That’s a wonderful shot and it did make me smile. Hugo is obviously cooling down the important bits 😂😂

He still looks quite comfy despite the heat!

Really cute capture of Hugo.

Oh dear, with summer coming, are you going to get rain? we are in a winter rainfall region, Hope your summer is wet, wet, wet
October 26th, 2019
@ninaganci I'm afraid we are not predicted to get rain until Feb. So it's bad news all around. This area should be subtropical, so the change in our climate is staggering and the fires raging are unbelievable. I hope some rain comes from somewhere unexpected!

@koalagardens Understand. This is devastating indeed. We too are heading into summer months and fire season, even though we are Mediterranean climate, the weather has changed drastically. As I am sure you know Cape Town is still has drought, not enough rain this winter. Australia is in the same position as us. Strongs sunshine
October 26th, 2019
@ninaganci yes indeed - we are having very similar weather change responses between our two countries. now is typically our fire season and by November the rain usually starts to build up and we tip into summer. not this year. I have started saying - climate change is no longer a warning we are giving, it is here, it is now.
you understand I can see. thank you for talking about it (too many still try to hide)

Terrific :)

The best you can do on a hot day. Move as less as possible. Great nice shot.
October 26th, 2019
I agree with you and Nina @ninaganci climate change is definitely here. the poor animals don't know what happened. hope the nights get a bit cooler. fav.

Sleeps like a baby.

@ninaganci @koalagardens I am here in California and it feels like our state is burning up. Major fires again this fall just like last year. They are threatening to cut electrical power to one million homes.
October 27th, 2019
@shutterbug49 it's beyond frightening isn't it? so sorry to hear you are in the same kind of dire straits, but I do know it's worldwide. We really realise it when we all talk from our different bits of the globe.
October 27th, 2019
He looks tired of the heat
October 27th, 2019
He looks quite vulnerable in this shot. :)
October 27th, 2019
It always amazes me how koala's manage to stay put in the trees. A great shot. I like his little leg showing.
October 27th, 2019
@koalagardens and this summer is going to be scorching.
Hope you get the rains by November.
We are experiencing some spring rain today. Though we also fear a hot hot summer up ahead. Rains here start only around the Easter Weekend.
Praying you receive the much needed rain
Only when you have lived through a drought and been restricted to 50litres of water per day, does one value water and rain
October 27th, 2019
@koalagardens so right you are.
October 27th, 2019
Nice capture.
