drying out

Hooray Bullet is back, hadn't seen him all month. Drying out nicely after a night of rain and showers much of the day.
Aw, Bullet! Do koalas sleep a lot? You seem to get a lot of images of them sleeping.

@jernst1779 sure do - they average 18 - 22 hours a day sleeping. This sleep ranges from deep sleeping to dozing. Eucalyptus leaves are very low in calories and they have to stuff themselves full then sleep to digest.

The positions they can sleep in continually amaze me!

This is adorable! Love the way he's wedged in there. I seem to recall from one of your earlier videos on YouTube that their fur is a good water repellent so they don't actually get wet to the skin?

Big snoozes going on there!

@seacreature yes indeed, they have very dense coats that repel the water. it is what made them such prize pelts when this country was invaded. Finally in the late 1920's after killing more than 8 million the government woke up that they had nearly wiped them out and made it illegal to do so.
