but do they slow down? by koalagardens

but do they slow down?

For the rainbow, these are new large, iridescent road signs that have been place - that is my boundary fence in front of this sign. At night the white area shines awesomely in car headlights and really stands out as these are large signs.

Under the koala the 24 hour rescue phone number is given to report sick or injured koalas sighted.

Thank you for the awesome comments and questions on my photos - the rainbow is nearly done!
I love it and such a welcomed warning. I do hope people pay attention

Very nice that the sign is still visible at night ...Hopefully people will see it and be aware of any koalas in the area.

I hope it slows the traffic. They are like kids at play. I like how you let the photo show through the frame.

Do not make prohibitions if you cannot enforce them. So strictly control and give them a high pennaly.

Nice capture.

I hope they slow down! (Side note, I slowed down yesterday for what I thought was a cat in the street- it was actually a skunk! He scooted across the street and I went on my way.)

@pyrrhula I totally agree - the area here that has all the new signs is one of our highest rates of koala fatalities from cars. Sadly to enforcing is difficult as there are so many thousands of km of roads that koalas have to cross. I have a few ideas, but I don't think they would be taken up hahaha

@kchuk thank you for slowing down!! the big problem with going too fast is that if there is suddenly wildlife on the road you have no choice but to hit them because swerving is too dangerous. all the studies show that driving slower is what makes all the difference - both in the ability to safely avoid hitting wildlife, and in their chances of survival if they are hit.
