Not 'La Vuelta', which is the more famous Tour of Spain, a three-week event like the Tour de France. This is La Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, a one-week tour of Catalonia, Spain's NE province. Today was the second stage, a 200 km run along the Mediterranean coast that crossed the frontier into France and was due to end in a sprint at Perpignan. It may look like the UAE team were in control, but there was a breakaway group of three riders at least one km ahead. This shot as taken in Cerbère, the first French village after crossing the border.
@bob65 Thanks for enlightening me about the intricacies of road racing. It didn't do them (UAE) much good on Stage 2, they were nowhere to be seen at the sprint finish. However, after today's Stage 4 one of them held the overall lead.
