My husband and I drove to Calgary for the day to see some family, and so I took this shot from a hill overlooking the city. If I were to have taken the shot a little to the right you would be able to see the Rocky Mountains, unfortunately it was too cloudy over the mountains to give a very good view.
The best part of our little day trip was the drive. It takes three hours each way and we spent the time, talking, listening to music, and singing (very poorly) together.
Great skyline shot Lauren, the clouds & the blue sky you've been waiting for make the shot so dramatic. Glad you had a good trip & good fun on the travel :-) BTW had to fav for 2 reasons 1. It's a great photo & 2. childhood dreams
@spthorne thanks Simon! so happy you like this one :D on the drive to Calgary I saw so many roadside signs for horse ranches, but didn't see any horses outside (lots of cows though). my husband told me he knows a lady that has horses and does trail rides for people, so maybe I will get to go on a horse finally in the near future!
I alwyas wanted to got o Calgary, lauren. Since I watched this National Geographic documentary a long time ago. Looks even better in your photo. Great landscape!
@deniseescovino hi Denise, thanks! Calgary is a nice city, but getting very crowded the past several years. and I think it might be too cold for you lol (if you were there you might be forced to wear a big furry hat, lol) - i'm still laughing about your reaction to the hat! :)
great shot! i LOVE that sky!!
that is what i love about road trips with my husband as well, all the talking,listening to music and laughing at my husband sing rediculously....bc he tries to annoy me for fun. haha.
@kdimagery just read through your kind comments and really appreciate them :)
it's the ridiculous terrible singing that is the best part for sure! sometimes we sing in terrible fake opera voices to irritate one another lol
@laurentye
HAHAHA, we do the same thing!!! and one time i even hit the "record" button on my p&s camera without him knowing and i recored him singing silly and krazy!!! i was being all sneaky-sneaky and then he eventually caught on to what i was doing and now, when we go on road trips, everytime he breaks out into a silly singing voice, he ALWAYS makes sure my camera is not turned on. hahaha.
:D
@sweetcalliope it is pretty chilly right now! but starting to warm up in Calgary and here in Edmonton too
