Early Start

An early start to the cruise liner season this year due to the solar eclipse on Friday. A number of cruise liners on their way to Faroes where there is a 100% eclipse and two including the Magellan stopping off in Lerwick. Shetland is to be the best place in the UK with a 95% eclipse forecast but unfortunately there is 100% cloud cover forecast. A bit like last night's Northern Lights I'm afraid.

Good for the Shetland economy but a dire amount of tourists roaming the streets.

Kirkwall has one in too. The number of visitors was very evident yesterday when we were in town. No parking spaces!
