I've long wondered what it would be like to live at the Grutness House. There would be plenty of activity despite it looking a quiet location. The road to Sumburgh Head and the lighhouse passes the door, the Fair Isle ferry docks to the left and the airport is visible across the bay. I'd be prepared to give living there a go.
On the beach today there were Dunlin, Sanderling, Godwits, Ringed Plovers, Turnstone, Cormorants alongwith the statutory gulls and hooded crows.
