Greenfinch by lifeat60degrees

Greenfinch

At least one of the greenfinches still about today. Harvesting the catkins of the willows. Read a bit more about them and their history in Shetland. Described as a scarce migrant with no confirmed cases of breeding although there is a suspicion that a pair may have bred near Voe a good few years ago. As in the rest of the UK numbers have declined in recent years.
Great details through the branches!
