Sea Craa by lifeat60degrees

Sea Craa

The Razorbill or Sea Craa to give it it's local name is described as a "Common breeding summer visitor but scarce outside the breeding season."
Easy to see in the summer especially around the stacks and cliffs at Sumburgh Head but sometimes, as with this example, easier to photograph in Lerwick Harbour. There were a pair this morning happily diving in amongst the yachts around the small boat harbour.
Such an interesting bird.

Interesting looking bird - the head resembles a dolphin head somewhat. Beautiful white stripe from the eye to the beginning of the tip of the beak.
