The original photo is almost 8 years old. A long story, this fire was in the apartment complex where I was staying. When the fire trucks screamed by, I grabbed my camera and followed. I took this one as the firemen were hooking up the hoses, and residents were scrambling out.
I had been in a really grumpy mood that morning, this provided a real lesson in perspective. My "problems" were meaningless.
This was a pretty scary scene. Most people got out ok, but one woman broke her pelvis when she had to jump from a balcony. The building was a total loss though. This was reportedly caused by a carelessly discarded cigarette. Be careful out there!
