I would guess that the church is still in good use but has been cleared of pews for some youth activity as suggested by the presence of the young lady in the photo.

@pej @henrir @amyk Thanks all... here's the scoop: Our church is getting new carpet, so we had to clear everything out after service today. the young lady is part of the praise band (as am I)... after we had all our "stuff" cleared out, she was taking a break. I thought it was an interesting scene.
