Red Shouldered Hawk #7367

I'm presuming this is the same hawk we see occasionally. It has been 2 months since I last saw him (her?).

There was a Blue Jay who would pop down from the pine tress and sit about 10-12 feet away, stare at the hawk for 5-10 seconds, then pop back up into the pine trees. And repeat maybe 30 seconds later. He (she?) must've done it or 9 times, the hawk never paid any attention.

Blue jay was tempting fate....nice shot

Looks real nice against that background

I'm sure that the hawk just wasn't going to stop to the jay's level unless provoked. He has such a dignified aura.

Stunning! Love how the trees in the background form an awesome canvas for him/her.
