Reminds me that I've been watching a pair of baby storks grow up in a nest in a local park. One finally flew out the other day and the other one is still too afraid to leave. The sibling came back a little later and squaked at its sibling, but it still wouldn't leave. It's been fun to watch. Oh, and the mother is huge. She sounds just like a dinosaur when she flies up to the nest.
Okay, I lied. It's a great blue heron I've been watching! I just looked it up and learned that it's the largest heron native to North America. Their pale gray bodies can look white in flight. Scroll down to #2 on this list and listen to its dinosaur call: https://www.birdadvisors.com/white-birds-arizona/
I totalyy forgot that I had posted this as I did not look at my feed all week.
