Iceberg Ahead! by maggiemae

Iceberg Ahead!

Mr Man, our Nuts'n'Bolts man, having well prepared for a new adventure with ice picks and ropes, was stymied at what lay ahead! No boat, polar bears overlooking the ice plateau! The bike structure was so cold it had almost turned white!

The glare of the ice blinded him - he had given his Gucci sunglasses to that hula dancer with the big... smile!

He needed a Mars Bar to provide energy to make a wise decision and apart from that, his underpants had frozen!

The cold had won! Thoughts of that lovely hot desert island snuck into his mind.... it will be upwards and onwards from here!
OMG Maggiemea, you are so creative. This could go into an art show- Really! Very fun and interesting. Your description is so funny. I'd love to know how in the world you made what looks like a polar bear at the left?? By the way Mr Man better hope a Crow fly's by or else Mr. Man will have trouble ahead..:-)

LOL. You are too funny!

He's one adventurous guy .... that's all that I can say!! His little "trek" around the globe is fascinating. Don't know why he ever left paradise! And now his underpants are frozen ...lol. :)

Fabulous shot! So creative!

Awesome

Hey have him head my way--no icebergs to be found in the waters here!!!
I almost burst out laughing about the hula dancer comment.

And what a fantastic shot to go with the story.

He licked his handlebars and his tongue stuck to them. Now he really was in a pickle...................
You make me laugh Maggiemae. Such creativity. I think he deserves a comic strip. Or you should make one of those photo books with all the stuff written with each shot. send it to a publisher and voila you are rich!!
August 10th, 2012
LOL! What a great setup and shot, Maggiemae! Glad to see your creative juices flowing with this!
August 10th, 2012
Funny narrative. Awesome shot. I agree that this one should be in an art show.
August 10th, 2012
This is a great photo -- composition, POV, color -- and the narrative made me laugh. I am facing this one!
August 10th, 2012
Darn -- spell check changed faving to facing.
August 10th, 2012
Lol...very creative! Love the colors!
August 10th, 2012
this is just so freakin' brilliant! love the processing... it just evinces COLD! and i'm lovin' your story line as well :)
August 10th, 2012
@northy thanks, Northy! You know Mr Man spent a few hours in a freezer to get this frosty look on his bike!
August 10th, 2012
impressive effort in the name of verisimilitude!
August 10th, 2012
@sailingmusic Myrna, thanks for your comment! One of these days..... it might be a book amongst the many things to do!
August 10th, 2012
@summitnsmile Don't think there are any crows in the Arctic, Mark! He'll probably find an abandoned air strip and sprout wings!
August 10th, 2012
@northy had to look up that splendid word - "a philosophical or theoretical notion that distinguishes truth and falsity of assertions or hypotheses"! Crikey, did i do that?
August 10th, 2012
@maggiemae ba ha ahaaaa! i dunno... it IS a $50 word ;p but years ago i read a book by a very literary individual who used referred to things done "in the interests of verismilitude" as meaning the things one does to make something look real or true... and rightly or wrongly, it's somehow stuck with me :)
August 10th, 2012
Oh dear, I've fallen behind in the Adventures of Mr. Man! But I'm sure he's met every obstacle with that fearless grip on his handles and his foot pressing the gas pedal full speed ahead. Fun shot and very creative!
August 10th, 2012
@olivetreeann It just goes back only 6 shots but he did appear again and hence the world wide stories as to whats been happening!
August 10th, 2012
So clever!

August 10th, 2012
Great
August 10th, 2012
cool shot
August 10th, 2012
What an imagination you have Maggie, you should write stories (if not already doing so :)) Loved what you did in the photo too :)
August 10th, 2012
Excellent........you are an amazing storyteller...can't wait for tomorrow!
August 10th, 2012
You are so creative! Love the pov on this one. Great shot.
August 10th, 2012
How. Cool. This is my favorite "nuts n bolts" shot yet! Well done!
August 10th, 2012
Very creative and another wonderful story Maggie.
August 10th, 2012
Another cool shot. Keep it up.
August 10th, 2012

You are very creative!
August 10th, 2012
cool and creative!
August 11th, 2012
LOL and a great photo to go along with the creative flow of this entire composition. You're going to have a whole book of these Mr. Man stories to write to go along with your brilliant illustrations. Excellent fav.
August 11th, 2012
This is the Coolest~ no pun intended!
August 11th, 2012
Not so keen on this cold environment as yesterday's but it makes for a 'cool' shot ;o) xx
August 11th, 2012
Too funny. The frozen underware got me. HaHA!!!!! Good one.
August 11th, 2012
Maggie - have you ever considered turning the adventures of Mr Man into a children's book? Fantastic Effort and wonderful outcomes.
August 12th, 2012
@doblaine I am considering it, thank you David! Don't really know where to start!
August 12th, 2012
I would guess that you would decide which age group to aim at, come up with a story line, write it in the way that you describe your photos with links from one to another. Send to a publisher and cross fingers.......simple for you.
August 12th, 2012
@doblaine Putting all the photos on to something is a bit daunting - the printer would expire, I think!
August 12th, 2012
Embed it in a MS Word document then its all digital. You can email it then.
August 12th, 2012
@doblaine hmm.... yes, that sounds possible - I haven't finished his adventures yet, though!
August 12th, 2012
Its was only a suggestion and recognition of your creativity.
August 12th, 2012
@doblaine Thank you David, I do appreciate your input!
August 12th, 2012
you've done such a great job on this one! very very nice
August 12th, 2012
Lyn
You are having such fun - we are all benefiting from your great imagination!
August 13th, 2012
Yes, certainly, Mag. You have puzzled me. Your techniques of shooting such fine sceneries is still a secret for me! I like it more and more with every new shot of yours. Besides the story, you accompany your works, is wonderful! All I have to do is simply follow it and expect new surprises! Great! Fav!
August 13th, 2012
you are so creative! The picture alone is interesting to look at but the story elevates it to a higher art. Well done! I am your new fan. :-)
August 13th, 2012
Thanks, Buffy! Wait for today's photo.......!!
August 13th, 2012
this is really a cool shot! love the way you staged!
