Picnic in the Woods by maggiemae

Picnic in the Woods

This photo was taken by me over 30 years ago and I enlarged and framed it because I loved several elements in it;
1) We both look young!
2) It has 3 of our Miniature Pinschers in it - Tom and Tessa and daughter Katie
3) The woods we were in were my dream of what woods should be like to picnic in.
The sunlight shone through the trees to spotlight our rug!
The glass has some refections on it which added to the dreamy effect, I thought
Nice tones

@woot The original picture was full of color but over the years it has faded! Sepia seemed to be a good option!
September 25th, 2012
That's so lovely Maggie! I love how old photos gradually develop that really golden all over glow, it's hard to imagine we were that young way back then!
September 26th, 2012

This is a PERFECT example of why I pick up my camera daily. I want to have these types of beautiful memories captured as well. LOVE this! :)
September 27th, 2012
forever young so true
bet it seems like yesterday
September 28th, 2012
Thanks for sharing. The image seems to capture a time much older than you. Maybe the 1920's. Nice nostalgia!
September 29th, 2012
It's very dreamy. The sepia really adds to that. In the future " old pics" just won't look so old since they will be sharp and in color. I guess someone may invent some moving picture that might take the still picture's place...so then today's pics would look "old"
