The Odd Couple by maggiemae

The Odd Couple

No real photo opportunity today so played around with a couple of future photo bombs. The background is an old painting I did about 30 years ago of our Auckland house when we lived there for 25 years. It is a poor painting so is now reduced to mouldering away in the pool house - commonly know as a glass house but it has a very leaky ceiling!

Three good things;
1. Got the cat vaccinated
2. Learnt a new window cleaner recipe - 1 part meths to 5 parts water.
3. OAMARU WON! It is NZ's sharpest town!
Very striking - and with your processing I can't tell which is the painting and which is not! Not bad for a slow-photo day :)

@annemary you just never know, Anne Mary! Watch this space!

@happypat thanks, Pat! Being the sharpest town means the television crew is going to come down in August and film live from here! I don't know for how long! A house in Oamaru selling for $190000 would be in Auckland, $700000! Just one of the attractions!

Love the abstract result and congratulations on being the sharpest town.

@daisy You never know until you try, Kathryn. With the photographer's eye you can pick out how to duplicate light and shadow and form!

Congrats Oamaru! Great composition. Love all the things in it! As for item #3 What is meths? Here that would be a drug!

How does it feel to live in NZ's sharpest town?
July 9th, 2013
I hope people will not denigrate Oamaru any more. Dull old country town etc! @deburahiru Thanks, Deb!

July 10th, 2013
I really like your processing and knowing that you paint. Do you still paint?
July 10th, 2013
Cool processing!
July 10th, 2013
Future photo bombs? Sounds as if you're predicting something! Well, without being able to actually see the painting it's hard to tell whether it's good or bad! hehe I like the soft edges on the processing though.
July 10th, 2013
I like the processing you did here! It made this so interesting!
July 12th, 2013
congratulations to the citizens of oamaru for living in NZ's sharpest town. i also wish i could paint. i can draw but painting, my arts teachers in school would tell you there's not an ounce of a painter in me! pity because my father could paint, as well as my brothers and sisters. the only painting i'm good at is painting the walls of my apartment. just give me the paint and a good brush and your walls would look like you paid a painting company, maybe even better. and that's about the extent of me being a painter! i love your "collage", and the pairing of the giraffe and rooster is indeed odd!
