I wanted to show this dear little rosebud to its best. It grows just outside my window as I sit at the computer so I snipped it off and gave it the best!
Three good things:
1. This climbing rose doesn't have prickles
2. Autumn has begun - means Spring for others!
3. I'm so chuffed to be on TT amongst all that absolutely incredible talent!
@maggiemae A thornless pink climbing rose is an important clue in one of Agatha Christie's novels--I can remember the plot (roughly) but not the title. I think the one in the novel is the one I mentioned.
@tristansmum That got me interested, Stephanie! The story is called "Sad Cypress" and the maid had a scratch on her wrist that she said came from the rose which was Zephirine drouhin and was thornless!
@maggiemae Right on Maggie, that's the title! I've always thought that book was a tribute to or take-off on the Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries by Dorothy L. Sayers, because the story is about a woman wrongly accused of murder, and because the man who's in love with her and gets Poirot on the case is called Peter Lord.
