The Uke Concert

Needless to say, I didn't take this but John did so it comes from our house. Our performance was in the middle of the 60 strong RSA men's choir that came up from Dunedin for one performance. It was very popular and we got lots of applause! I'm in the green on the right.

I'm going to post a very short excerpt from this tomorrow.

Three good things:
1. The wrong chords were put in front of me for the first song and I was lost - a lot of airguitar work.
2. We were all excited by this major concert in front of a big audience in our Opera House.
3. May be able to have a good nights sleep now its over!

The uke's really caught on over here in the UK (or should that be the UKe? ;-) ) - lots of people are learning to play. I think it's great that folk are encouraged to pick up a musical instrument, it's such a fun thing to do and a great way of meeting people and getting together.
