Testing

I got out an old camera and wanted to see if I could get good results with all I now know about photography. Its just a point and shoot but does have options but they are all automatic - no manual. The words on the tiny screen are so small you need a magnifying glass to read them. However some scenes turned out relatively well. I see sometimes the camera type is not in the side panel as here so for info, it is a Sony Cybershot DSC F77.

Three good things:
1. John is almost - almost thinking about getting a new camera for me.
2. Nothing wrong with my present camera - I want more video quality, better f.stop on zoom, and wifi plus a ND filter.
3.It is so great to have a hobby that consumes!
What a beautiful velvety rose photo!

You produce amazing photos with your current camera so I cannot wait to see what you might produce with a new camera.

Beautiful Maggie, your focus is perfect! How exciting to have the prospect of a new toy!!

If this is from the old camera I would say you are doing a fantastic job.

@lwain Gee, thanks Lindy for your nice comment! Makes me feel so good!

I notice that when I upload on my iPad there is no info regarding date or type of camera.
Lovely rose beautifully taken....Sony Cybershots were always a good camera.....Harry has one now with a terrific zoom. I am looking at lenses at the moment & am about to order a new zoom one for street shots especially...we could spend some money couldn't we? I am lacking in ambition regarding manual theses days....just mostly slap,it on auto or P & be done with it! Just give John a little nudge in the right direction!

This turned out great. yeah for the possibility of a new camera. I went through 3 in my first year of 365. Still on the 3rd, but want lots of gear.

Really beautiful results with that camera!

Beautiful

This came out quite nice! I had a Sony Cybershot too. My kids got tired of me saying "I need my glasses to see what's on the screen here!" and got me the Canon. I've often thought it might be fun to track down a memory stick and use it again.

Love this creamy rose.

Very nice detail. Point & shoots come in handy and are easy to carry around in a pocket or purse.

@tristansmum Stephanie - your typing fingers must be exhausted commenting on my photos! Thank you for the consideration that that involved!

A very rich yellow, and I do believe you got some good results

@tonydebont Thanks Tony - it is a lovely colour. I shot it again with my good bridge camera and the difference was more depth of shadow into the rose.

What a beautiful photo, Maggiemae. Love the color and detail you captured. How fun to get a new camera. I am looking forward to replacing mine so I can see the full screen. FAV

Lovely rose, Maggiemae. I love the color and the detail is lovely. It's quite pretty and very clear. I loved my Kodak EasyShare until I dropped it and broke it. I love my Canon PowerShot. It works great for all the things I shoot. I don't want one that has changeable lenses and extra gear. It's too much and too confusing. But that's just me. Anyway, lovely photo.

So pretty! I wouldn't throw or give it away yet!
July 11th, 2014
@kiwichick No, its got value as a pocket camera, Lesley! But very limited in the creative scene!
July 11th, 2014
@prttblues You probably know your Canon well after using it and that gives you an idea of what you would want to improve if you could! Thats all I'm doing!
July 11th, 2014
@anden Not as good as is possible, Anatoly! You have a DSLR but I just want to upgrade to a really good Bridge Camera as I think they have a future!
July 11th, 2014
Instant fav ..... beautiful crisp petals and the color is awesome. I would definitely keep that camera as a spare! But as "they say" it's not the camera but the photographer who creates a great photo.

@cimes1 Something about the workman blaming his tools! I've still a lot to learn. Thanks, Carole for the fav!

@happypat We don't have to involve the brain and the reasoning until we really need to, Pat! When we are ready.....!
