The park just down the road had enormous dark lakes on it from all the rain. These two were having fun in several of these temporary ponds. The wee boy in blue had just fallen over into the water pulling the boat but he didn't seem to worry!
Three good things:
1. The sun came out and made nice sharp reflections.
2. A lady came out of the supermarket to help me put 4 bags of groceries into my bike panniers! She wondered if I thought I was superwoman!
3. First daffodils in the garden and its mid winter!
You are up early maggiemae!! the red boat looks like its jaws are open........gobbling up ducks! They are having good fun in those big puddles.......great reflections!
How did you get home with your panniers full.......wobbling all the way?
@happypat Up early because we are pretending we are in Hawaii and using Hawaii time, Pat! Then in 3 days we will take on LA time. Hopefully we won't get jet lag! And, no I rode up the hill with these full bags and only had to stop once!
@maggiemae I didn't realise you are so near setting off.......hope you will be able to post while you are away. I will give you my telephone number shall I & you can delete it straight away. If you ring me when it gets into September & we can arrange a meet up in Manchester. If you are able & willing that is !!
@espyetta We aren't actually going to Hawaii - just putting their time on our clocks so our bodies get used to the different time, Marybeth. Our destination in the States is just South Dakota and Minnesota.
@maggiemae I knew you were adjusting, but thought it really was for hawaii! Are you just sight seeing in the states? South Dakota is so pertty ...I was there as a child.
@espyetta There is a big motorbike week in Sturgis where John is a star guest and will be doing things while I trail behind him trying to be knowledgable about bikes. Another one in Minneapolis - a huge rally.
Lovely to see the bright colours reflected in the floods. Yes we had a fabulous time with Pat and Harry - they are so easy to get on with. She told me you're going to meet up later in the year.
@maggiemae - hope I haven't caused offence, it was a tongue-in-cheek comment!! Wikipedia meaning says: 'A groupie is generally considered a devoted female fan of a band or musical performer. The term originates from the female attaching herself to a band. A groupie is considered more intense about her adored celebrities than a fan and tends to follow them from place to place.' So was just implying that you are an adoring fan!
Great capture, Maggiemae. At least some are trying to put a bad thing into a good use. I like that they are wearing bright colors. Great reflections, too. I hope the flooding dissipates soon!
What an adorable shot of these two lads enjoying their temporary ponds. Oh so you are coming to the States! I've always wanted to see the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore in SD. So many great photo ops there. Thought you'd enjoy this article about the Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis: http://www.blackhillsvacations.com/blackhills/
i had a good laugh at your and jackie's @jackie8 exchange! a star like john needs a pretty consort (blonde preferably) and you're it! he got a bonus because you're smart, too! i love the softness of this photo and the reflection is just gorgeous!
How fun is that?! Especially for boys who like anything wet and splashy! Sounds like your trip is going to be exciting! But why acclimate to Hawaiian time? Why not Mountain time? Well, I guess those might be silly questions- just goes to show you I am not a world traveler!
@olivetreeann Mountain town is even more ahead (minus one day) than ours! Its as much as I can cope with to wake up 2 hours earlier in the morning, Ann!
