Time out by maggiemae

Time out

An exciting start to the day with an email from my future publisher - my book is almost there! I looked at the back cover and front and it looked so real! I felt like patting my back but with a bad back, couldn’t even reach halfway!
I have to edit the whole 256 pages again for the umpteenth time so had no time for looking for photos other than being down near the Oamaru playground.
Two people walked past this somewhat Steam Punk children’s area where even adults want to interact.

Three good things:
1. Great sympathy with my bad back..and things.. from those in 365! We realise we are not alone!
2. The daffodils now are the best - ‘a host of golden….” Alongside, are red tulips and blue hyacinths.
3. Cat was taken for vaccination and actually didn’t jump off the table or attack the vet!
Bep
That really sounds exciting! Editing always takes a lot of time. I know this from my own experience (husband wrote some books).
:-)) nr.3

Great shot I love the penny farthing bike with the guy sat on top. I think I would want to interact with it also.

@gijsje What do the signs mean at the end of your sentence? And were your husband's books successful?
September 18th, 2015
WELL DONE !! Maggiemae -- I will give you a verbal pat on the back -that will not hurt and I hope your back will be better soon . A lovely candid capture with a lot of interests to look at -- I haven't come across a Steam Punk children's play ground before ! but there are quite a few Steam Punk fests happening around the midlands !
You make me quite envious with your " host of golden daffodils " while we are in the season of the end of the flowers for another year !! Your garden sounds so wonderful and colourful !!

The truly fascinating shot offers much to be seen! Well done! Congratulations to on having the book so close to being finished! I know you are loving the coming spring time with beautiful flowers! It always perks one up to see new life coming once again!
September 18th, 2015
@beryl Thanks Beryl - It is colourful and now the huge blossom tree is about to come out in pink blossom! Quite a small garden but well planted by previous occupants!
September 18th, 2015
@grammyn I love being on this side of summer, Katy! Going to get warmer but not too warm down here in the south!
September 18th, 2015
That just looks so typically NZ.
September 18th, 2015
Congratulations on the book! Glad you took time for the park - looks like it was a great day!
September 18th, 2015
You guys have the most stimulating playgrounds? Your news sounds exciting except for having to edit it again. I thought they had editors to do that? I rarely get through a book these days with out finding a typo or worse. Perhaps those editors are a thing of the past.
September 18th, 2015
@janiskay They would edit it, Janice but would charge $3500 for that! See how much I'm saving!
September 18th, 2015
Well done on the book. The final editing will be worth it. Sorry your back is playing up. Do you doany exercises for it? This looks a fantastic playground; I could be a child again thereeven at the grand old age of 68!
September 18th, 2015
You will know your book by heart Maggiemae but so exciting for you to be able to see it in print! Looking forward to those photos massively! The Oamaru children have a great playground. Just watched the first rugby game so best of luck to,our teams. Editing won't do,your back any good.....worth it though!
September 18th, 2015
@kelly2 Thanks Irene for reminding me - must do this - exercises!
September 18th, 2015
@happypat Yes - found some bad errors - like too instead of to, ran instead of run etc etc. I hate finding errors in a book that I'm reading but seldom do!
September 18th, 2015
Oh, and a huge congrats on the book too, how exciting!
September 18th, 2015
How exciting Maggiemae you are nearly there with the book! What a wonderful feeling that must be! Take it easy with your bad back - do not rush into anything - it will get better! Lucky you with Spring on the way with lots,of lovely flowers!
September 18th, 2015
Great shot and how exciting must that be to have a book published :-)
September 18th, 2015
Great candid shot, something has caught their attention and I find it interesting/annoying that people have a phone in their hand at all times. Good luck too with the book, sounds like a big project.
September 18th, 2015
Congratulations! :)
September 19th, 2015
Congratulations on your book...great, clear capture
September 19th, 2015
That looks like a very innovative and creative play ground. Even I would like playing there- with my grandchildren! If they weren't around, I'd be taking pictures!
September 19th, 2015
@olivetreeann I'm quite surprised, Ann - here there is nobody warning you to not do this or that! Always I see a parent supervising here!
September 19th, 2015
@adayinmallacoota Yup - both had a phone in their hands while walking!
September 19th, 2015
Well done for the book. I can vouch that that playground is great for adults to play in!
September 19th, 2015
Congratulations on writing a book. Must be a wonderful feeling looking at all the hard work. I might have missed it but what is the book about? Must watch my is and are and spelling! English not being my home language there must be a lot of mistakes. But between the line I hope you will understand what I said. Hope your back is much better today. I do have the same problem. Been in a car crash during 2014 and ever since I find it hard to get up and walk sometimes. Been to the doctor and had X-rays but they could not find anything wrong with the hip or back. So hop along for me at this stage. Enjoy your day.
September 19th, 2015
Congrats on reaching final stages of the book publishing process!! And that is one amazingly large bike sculpture -- very interesting!
September 19th, 2015
Sounds exciting, and I really like this shot. Lots of detail and layers of things to look at.
September 19th, 2015
@sdutoit I applaud your efforts in commenting if English is not natural to you! I couldn't do the same in French even though I know some.Car crash sounds awful - there must have been some damage to your back!
September 19th, 2015
@taffy It is a Penny Farthing which Oamaru is a great place for - Victorian bicycles! There are swings hanging from underneath.
September 19th, 2015
Fabulous candid. Looks like a cool spot to get some pics. Congrats on your book. 256 pages, very impressive. I can barely string a sentence together!
September 19th, 2015
Very nice candid shot!! Looks like a very nice park!!
Just think, when you become rich and famous from your book, I can say "I knew Maggiemae, when!!!" Break a leg or is that for stage? Don't break anything, just much luck with your book! FAV!
September 19th, 2015
How exciting, I did not realised that you are writing a book. Is it the fantasy you did sometime on 365?
September 19th, 2015
@cashew Please tone it right down, Kathy - I just transposed my Mother's 1929 Diary when she visited the UK! The editing just goes on and on!
September 19th, 2015
@yaorenliu I wish - couldn't make it carry it on 256 pages without wine, Yao!
September 19th, 2015
Great park and candid. Hope the final stages of the book editing go well.
September 19th, 2015
Wow! Sounds amazing. Good luck.
September 19th, 2015
@dibzgreasley You sound as if you might know what goes on with the final editing, Debs. Some known corrections and some unforeseen probs!
September 19th, 2015
Great candid and park. All the best with the editing.
September 19th, 2015
Sounds like your book is nearly there :-)
September 19th, 2015
Cool looking park. Exciting news about your book.
September 19th, 2015
Looks a fun place to play, nice capture.
September 19th, 2015
A super shot and lovely sunlight. Best of luck with the book - is it fiction? Hope the back gets better soon too.
September 19th, 2015
Congratulations re the book. Good for you. What is the book?
September 19th, 2015
front and back are good, the stuff in between just needs a tweak.
September 19th, 2015
@busylady @jgpittenger I transcribed my mothers travel diaries, Judith and Jane! She travelled to England in 1929 and drove round the Isles in a 1928 convertible!
September 19th, 2015
That's a very impressive and unusual playground. So glad your book is moving nearer to publication. And please give your cat a cuddle from me for being such a good girl at the vet's!
September 20th, 2015
Great candid shot! Lots to see and that's a neat unique playground. Not the standard mass production type playground equip. Congratulations on the good news about your book being close to publication! That must be very exciting.
September 20th, 2015
Congrats on your book. How exciting... What an interesting playground . I feel thankful that my back only bothers me when I overdue something and that's my fault.
September 20th, 2015
Congrats, I would love to spend some time there!! Looks cool
September 21st, 2015
