British Legend by maggiemae

British Legend

Guy Martin racing his turbo-charged motorbike in the Street Races at Invercargill. I think he enjoyed the experience but didn't come near any of the placings. The weather was the challenge here - icy showers with gale force winds!

Three good things:
1. I felt it was an adventure just going outside!
2. I put my cap on sideways in a cafe and a nearby guy leapt up and wanted to take my photograph!
3. Good choice of clothes to have brought with this antarctic blast of bad weather!
You NZ guys beat Guy Martin! He's not up to the pace obviously! Shame about the weather! You must have looked a bit saucy with your hat on a slant!

@happypat He got 8th in this race, Pat; couldn't keep up in the beach race, but had a ride in all the events! No prizes at all!

Whatever the weather -a great action shot .. you must have looked the part with your camera and your cap at a jaunty angle !!

@beryl Out in the open freezing gales, Beryl, my cap was firmly on my head the right way and over the top the hood of my macintosh!

Looks decidedly bleak. Love the hi-tech barriers.

Beautiful capture - bet it was very difficult if he was riding at very high speed. And very dangerous for him too, with the icy showers and gale winds

A cold hot action shot

Well done for the capture - I bet he struggled to keep it in the right place with the high winds :-)
