A bright corner amongst the beautiful gardens around this station. Everything clean and colourful.
Climbed aboard the train and waited for departure. There appeared to be what they called a 'situation' and Amtrak Security was called. In our carriage there was a shady looking character who did wild things with his arms and slapped his thighs very hard. Security with full bullet proof vests arrived and took him away! One excitement!
Three good things:
1. We had a delicious meal - crab cake and chicken/prawn gumbo at a cafe.
2. Our cabin was roomy if you are stick thin, limited if you are not!
3. Watched the lights of Los Angeles fade into the distance as we moved quietly along!
Such a lovely spot - so colourful . Glad they sirted out the "situation " before you departed the station and before you settled down for the night in your cabin ( love your explanation , no 2 !! ) perhaps you should call it "cosy " !!
The bright flowers in the foreground make an excellent match to that lego look semicircle. Not a bad place to sit and enjoy whilst waiting for a train. Glad the situation was sorted!
Whoa! That could have been scary had he continued on the train ride. With the way things are in the world today (sadly), we just can't take chances. I know this place...... having grown up very near to LA, and having taken the train many times -- North and East!
You do come across some exciting things! So glad he was moved out of your cabin! Other than that a fairly ordinary day in the life of the traveling Munro's! Wonderful vivid pattern!
You always describe your scenes so well Maggie, I lke the slapping thighs and flailing arms pucture but must have been unnerving for you. This looks a lovely place to sit and wait.
Train tripping - what fun. Glad security sorted out that strange- sounding character! How far are you travelling by train? I love train trips although sleeper trains can be 'interesting' if the cabin is too cosy! Lovely colours and shadows you have captured here.
Very bright & cheerful, what an experience on the train carriage, excitement + +. The only thing I don't cope with well on a train is the tiny bathroom!!! On to the next stop!!
They will not stand for people who act strange. A good thing they removed this person. This looks like a great spot to sit a while. Very colorful. Sounds like a good meal and small quarters inside. Would work fine for me but not my husband. What a great trip you are on.
